What is RetroMAD1?
RetroMAD1 is a patented bioactive protein (US Patent No. 2013/0336955.A1) that kills viruses that cause fatal diseases in cats and dogs, principally feline leukemia (FeLV), feline immunodeficiency syndrome (FIV), feline panleukopenia (FPV), canine parvovirosis (CPV2) and canine distemper (CDV).
RetroMAD1 is derived from the bio-synthesis of three distinct antiviral peptides secreted by plants and animals to naturally defend themselves against infections.
RetroMAD1, being a naturally derived protein, has excellent safety margin and can be stored without need for refrigeration in its sealed and unopened bottle for up to 2 years from date of manufacture.
How does RetroMAD1 work for my cat/dog?
RetroMAD1 is a virus killer. It acts by (a) preventing viruses from attaching themselves on to the cell membrane of host cells by inactivating the viruses' spike protein enzymes; and (b) inhibiting the viruses' reverse transcriptase from translating their RNA into DNA which stops viral replication in the host cells. The host cells are then eliminated by the animal's immune system.
